Coronavirus Announcement 3/14/2020

Greeting Fisherman of Men Family!

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has become more widespread and is a rapidly evolving situation here in DC and around the world. While we are continuing to pray and trust in God’s protection, we at Fisherman of Men Church are also closely monitoring COVID-19 and taking action based on guidance from public health experts. Our Sunday School and Morning Worship Service for Sunday, March 15, 2020 will proceed as scheduled, with some adjustments and no afternoon service. Please know that your attendance is always optional, and it is understood if you choose not to participate given the current circumstances. Your health and safety are our top priority during this time. We are encouraging limited personal contact and frequent hand washing as preventive measures. Hand sanitizer will also be made available. If you are feeling sick, or if you have been in close contact with someone who is sick, please remain at home.

We have taken multiple steps minimize health risks and protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus. We have thoroughly cleaned the church and made special efforts to sanitize common and frequently touched areas. We will continue to take these necessary precautions to ensure the health safety of our congregation.

It is important to remain vigilant as the situation regarding COVID-19 continues to evolve. We will continue to monitor the situation, including updates from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Government of the District of Columbia. We encourage everyone to take precautions as suggested by the CDC. Please visit the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) or the DC Coronavirus website (https://coronavirus.dc.gov/) for additional information, resources, and updates about the coronavirus. Let us continue to watch and pray during this time of uncertainty and remember that God has not given us the spirit of fear.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Sincerely,

Nettie Groover, First Lady
